The rich history of the Majapahit Kingdom era in the 14th century ago was still stored in the area of Malang regency. It is marked by the discovery of the statue kind Jaladwara (water fountain) at Baba's, Village Ngenep, Karangploso. Now, the object being studied by a team of BP3 (Archaeological Heritage Preservation Hall) East Java.
Arca dengan dimensi tinggi 50 cm dan 30 cm tersebut pertama kali ditemukan oleh Marjoko, 36, warga setempat pada 13 Agustus 2012 lalu. Saat itu, pria yang berprofesi senagai buruh perajin batu bata itu sedang menggali tanah dengan kedalaman satu meter. Dia pun kemudian melaporkan ke perangkat desa yang diteruskan ke Kecamatan Karangfploso, Pemkab Malang, dan BP3 Jatim.

Diprediksi, benda ini peninggalan kerajaan Majapahit abad ke 14," kata Kepala BP3 Jatim, Aris Soviyani sembari menunjukkan arca yang terbuat dari bahan batu andesit merah tersebut.

Dia menuturkan, arca tersebut mirip seperti yang ditemukan di Candi Tikus, Trowulan beberapa waktu lalu. Megitu dia menuturkan ada sedikit perbedaan antar penemuan di Karangploso dengan di Trowulan. "Di Trowulan terbuat dari batu andesit hitam," ungkap dia.

Penemuan arca tersebut membuat BP3 Jatim memiliki spekulasi akan adanya arca lain yang ada di sekitar tempat tersebut. Setelah meneliti arca tersebut, mereka melakukan upaya penelusuran sampai radius sekitar 0,5 kilometer dengan tujuan mencari arca lainnya.

Di salah satu sudut desa mereka mendapati sumber air yang biasa digunakan warga untuk keperluan sehari-hari. Warga biasanya menyebutnya Sumber Kasin. Namun, mereka tidak menemukan arca lain seperti yang ditemukan sebelumnya. Mereka bersikeraas jika sudah ditemukan satu Jaladwara, pasti akan ada tiga Jaladwara lainnya.

"Logikanya begini. Yang kami temukan ini kan arca pancuran air, bsa dipastikan dulunya di tempat ini terdapat kolam air. Atau bisa juga terdapat punden untuk ritual sembahyang. Di zaman dulu mata air diperlukan untuk menyucikan diri sebelum ke punden," beber Aris Soviyani.

Di sisi lain, Aris menuturkan pihaknya tidak begitu yakin jika arca tersebut adalah arca yang benar-benar ada di tempat tersebut selama ratusan tahun. "Melihat kontur tanah tidak terlihat aktivitas masa lalu. Kami prediksi ini dipindah sekitar 3-5 tahun yang lau dari tempat lain ke tempat lain," tandas dia.

Sementara, Suwardi, Kepala Desa Ngenep menuturkan sejak ditemukan oleh salah satu warganya pada 13 Agustus lalu arca tersebut langsung diamankan di balai desa setempat. "Ya untuk jaga-jaga saja Mas demi alasan keamanan. Pak Marjoko menemukannya saat menggali tanah di lahan kosong," ujar Suwardi.
